The future integrated school have 5 main buildings: Kindergarten, primary schools, secondary school, high school, and boarding area for staffs and teachers. 

Primary School/Kindergarten



The primary and kindergarten was build on 2018-2020 the infrastructure was designed to create an ideal environment for learning, playing and organizing different activities.



CEN STAGE


        In this stage we got to see the spectacular performances of every children that are aligned to their learning areas present in school. This stage aimed to help students develop experiences with their own products such as making carrot juice with their own produce product in the school garden and get to share it with other students as well as Sea-teacher batch 9, the carrot was refreshing and healthy. In this stage children develop self-awareness respect to every careers and work in society.

        The school also has swimming pool with the design of ukulele is the entrance of the school. Did you know they use guitar chords to determine the class level of the school its a unique way to distinguish the learning capacity if every children also the future integrated schools create learning experience for children by building and providing them sandpit that is qualified to the standards to ensure children safety and lifelong learning.



History 

        The Future Integrated School has started 2018- present, it is a developing school striving for higher education. Currently the school has started building their High School for grade 10,11, and 12 to provide learners with better education. The school can bring the students is that each children will grow up to become their own selves but not to try become someone else. 

Curriculum Structure


        The entire content of future integrated school are in accordance with the regulations of Ministry of Education has both contents are integrated and does not affect the tie and acquisition of the children.

Teaching Areas

  1. Language
           - Students learns Vietnamese, Integrated English, and Cambridge English. The program ensure that children can use English as a mother tongue, theory and practical application, and being suitable for each students, including specialized students.

    2. Math
            
            - Students learns two types of math the Vietnamese math and English math for children to develop creative thinking and problem solving.

    3. Science

            - Students learns Social and natural science, History, Geography and English Science.

     4. Art

            - Students learns Dance, Fine Art, Craft-Engineering, and Music Appreciation. Basic standards of the Ministry of Education is for children to know how to play musical instruments, participate in cultural and artistic activities based on the child's interest.

    5. Technology

            - Students learns Computer Science.

    6. Lanethics/Moralsguage

           - Students learns Moral and Soft skills.

    7. Physique

            - Students learns Physical Education, swimming, cycling, martial arts and English physical education.   Basic standards of the Ministry of Education is for children in the third grade is for them to know how to swim, ride a bike and play a sport based on their interest.

 Academic Support System


        The learning facilities of Future Integrated School is very spacious and it follow the basic requirement of Ministry of Education to support safe and conducive learning environment for every learners and teachers as well.

  • Kindergarten Facility of Future Integrated Schools has several facilities, such as classrooms, play area, teachers offices, cubby holes, learning stations, spacious cafeteria for snacks and lunch and etc.
  • The classroom of Future Integrated Classrooms is very spacious for children 4-5 years old they have 8 classroom each level for every grade level. Each classroom is equipped of tables, chairs, aircon, cubby holes and shelves to store their bags, pillows and etc.

        

Teaching System


        Teachers in kindergarten department are given 30 minutes each subject to teach. Their main language used inside the classroom is Vietnamese and teachers can use different kind of teaching method that are suitable for their students learning area that are being tackled. They're given a time to study English for children to learn basic English.

        The school is held five times a week (Monday to Friday), Starting 8:15 am until  3:30 pm. Kindergarten children have snack time between every class in the morning and afternoon. The future Integrated School are the one who provides meals for breakfast, snacks, lunch and snack time everyday that are healthy and allergic free.

Teaching Methods

       


         Based on my observation, the cooperating teacher prioritize students participation in class. Teacher uses songs, Q & A, discussion and experiential learning. The teacher first give example and the children will follow after or she will let the child repeat after her, also she explains the importance of the lesson in daily activities for children to understand in real life situation. 

 

Learning Material and Innovation



The cooperating teacher teaches the kindergarten students. In her learning material she only uses Bluetooth speaker for singing and dancing and more discussion and mastery skills of her lesson.




Authentic Assessment

            

Students are assessed after the discussion the children are able to understand what the teacher are being taught and one way of the teacher assess the students is through experiential learning on how they greet other people in English and how the children introduces their self.

Curriculum


Education of Future Integrated School is private education. It is divided into 4 levels: Primary, Kindergarten, Secondary, and High school it consist of twelve years basic education. Primary is consist of six years, 3 years in secondary and 3 years in Highschool and students are enrolled  on a whole day basis.

Procedures of Teaching


Preliminary Activity



In this activity it started with greetings, good morning song and dancing afterwards I will give motivation on what is the thing we will do in todays activity as well asking them questions about primary colors.



Main Activity


In this activity, I started by giving out materials for every children to do their own paper lanterns along with my instruction. Step by step, I showed my work first and then let the students follow me along with my instructions and how to do it after that I assisted the students on their work. I let the students design their own work with colors and stamps that I provided them.



Closing Activity



In this activity, I asked the students on what did we make in todays class and what color is their own lantern by raising their hands and identifying what color in their own lantern. Afterwards we took a group photo and I give out candies as a love gift for children who attended my class and bids farewell.


Time Management and Organizing Activities

        Time management is very crucial in teaching, it is one of the factors why efficient and effective learning process happens. At Future Integrated Schools, I only have 30 minutes to tackle everything per section. For that give full consideration on what to include in the discussion to have an ample time for every learners activity. 

         I decided in the Preliminary Activity that I'll allocated 5 minutes for greetings, song and dance. For Main Activity 20 minutes along with motivation, asking questions and lesson proper as I already cut the materials needed for the activity in advance. Lastly, Closing Activity for 5 minutes for the closure, picture taking, bids farewell and giving of prizes






Classroom Management


        Classroom management makes learning more productive. At first I was nervous that the children might not understand my instruction however the lesson went well. Every time I heard or see that the children are not listening I would capture their attention by saying "HI!" In a louder voice or clap my hand 3 times. 

        Body language is one of the major factor my lesson went well as I know that children understood basic English I would incorporate body language in my instruction, if i instruct them to sit down I would show them the sitting position by doing the sitting position as well as standing up position. When the children did well, we will do the good job clap by clapping three times to right and three more times to left side and then do the good job by thumbs up.




Problem Solving

        When I did my teaching practice, I did encounter some problems. The problem was, the children are talking to me in Vietnamese and I couldn't understand the words they're saying and I felt guilty and sad that I cannot give them the answer they want nor can communicate with them very well as I couldn't express ,y love and gratitude towards them. However, in the materials I used for the lesson I were able to find alternative in advance before the actual teaching practice because I worked on it prior to see what is the best material to use for the paper lantern and paper fan with that I was able to solve the problem and deliver the lesson with no problem with the materials.


Summary and Suggestions


The opportunity that I would forever be grateful with. Sea-teacher Batch 9 will always be remembered and loved.


Purposes of practicum


            The SEA- Teacher project is a project that aims to provide opportunity for pre-service students teachers from universities in Southeast Asia to have teaching experiences (practicum) in school in other countries in Southeast Asia. The objective of this project are: 
  • To enable pre-service student to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy.
  • To encourage the pre-service students teachers to practice their English skills.
  • To allow the pre-service student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view.
  • To expose future teachers diverse teaching and learning situations and opportunities and the value of flexibility.

        This SEA-Teacher program helps me to have a view of other cultures, tradition, practices and language that enable me to be better and increase my knowledge about teaching profession by having the opportunity to teach in Vietnam. These experience made me realize that I should continue to grow and create new experiences to build a better understanding in the world of teaching to be equip with great knowledge and lifelong skills to be used in teaching profession.

        Beside the communication barrier I was able to build great memories with great people surrounding me in this Batch 9 of SEA-Teacher. Learning one's language and culture make me appreciates and respect the cultures of other and it gives me an overview of the one's differences and values. As a students I believe I were able to accomplished or done the objectives of this SEA-Teacher program and I hope for the upcoming programs students were able to see and experience the beauty of DTHU and Future Integrated School.



Procedures of Practicum


The practicum is divided into three parts: observation, teaching practice, and evaluation and reflection.

Observation

     The observation is divided into two parts: the classroom observation and the school observation.

  • Class observation
        This is where we observed the teacher on how she delivered the lesson, handle the class and what kind of teaching practices she uses inside the classroom. During the observation I were able to understand what she is teaching as she uses English as her mode of instruction to children and they're times that she speaks Vietnamese then our supervisor would gladly to translate it with us on what the teacher are doing.



  • School Observation
This is where we got to know the history of the school, academic support system, curriculum, learning areas, materials and learning materials used and etc. of Future Integrated School. 



Teaching Practice

        This is the second step, most awaited part of this program and memorable. After we were given our topic to tackle on demo teaching and the section where we are going to teach and the number of pupils I will have handle. I planned everything in advance and did simulation in order to have a productive teaching practice in the Future Integrated School.


Evaluation and Reflection

        This is the last part and we usually gathered with our supervisors and she will give feedback of our performance and what are the things we need to improve. This is carried after the teaching practice.


Outcomes of Practicum


        The outcomes of the program are I were ale to improve my teaching styles and use it in the future teaching practice and also I was able to know what to improve and what to put in mind when teaching with the help of our supervisors.  Improve my communication skills even though English is our 2nd language it was a great help to develop my skills in conveying information. Also get to learn the culture and practice of Vietnam and to roam around their their province with the great help of students buddies. Lastly, develop friendship with different nationality : Vietnamese, Laos, and Indonesia that can last a lifetime.


Challenges of Practicum


        Although I was in other country I didn't get to experience challenges in living in Vietnam because they're a lot of students buddies who are willing to help me and if they're busy I was able to communicate with Vietnamese people with the use of google translate. In terms of food I can eat anything and I can cook so in terms of buying I always looked at the prices in the product and compare it with other store. I took the initiative to ask questions to the students buddies on what should I do or where should  I go in advance to have knowledge of the places.

        DTHU university is very convenient because its front gate has a lots of establishment where we can buy the staff we want so there is no challenges for me at all. In terms of practice teaching I didn't have any challenges as I planned everything in advance to make the lesson more productive and to avoid stressful day.


Over All Impression

        My deepest gratitude for DTHU for giving us the opportunity to be part of your school and for receiving us students in your university as well for providing me great and wonderful temporary home for 21 days, I will always be grateful with your hospitality and may DTHU prosper even more. The days I spent in Vietnam was incredible although It was my first country to visit I didn't expect it to be this great and exceptional.

        This SEA-Teacher program enables me to become the best version of myself and It thought me the things a teacher should be equip with as I learned a lot with my supervisors and mentors in DTHU I were able to bring out the best in me with their great help and knowledge in teaching.

        For the Batch 9 of SEA-Teacher Program from Indonesia and Philippines are memories we shared together will always be in my heart, I will cherished it forever and wait for the time for us to see each other again, we maybe far but the memories we shared together remains forever.



Suggestion for Future Improvement

        This program may continue to provide opportunity for other educators to be part of SEA-Teacher that can help foster growth in the life of future teachers. I suggest that may you continue to prosper and develop programs for others to live and experience the life I had when I was in Vietnam. Thank you and God bless.


Reflection



Who would ever thought I’ll got the chance to experience the beauty of DTHU to its beautiful environment, its people. The people in the DTHU are so welcoming, friendly, and cheerful I would never forget the fun I had with the student buddies, teachers, and students I had talked and had wonderful laugh with. I am happy that I got to experience such wonderful things with Batch 9 of SEA-Teachers.
